Everybody qualified where they finished in the race the day before. So when the red lights went out Gail suffered the slow start. With Davis leading Pearce shot up to 2nd Lyddall 3rd.

With Derek eager for a rematch he chased after Davis but it was all to go 'Pete-Tong' when on the 3rd lap he found oil on the track and once again spun off. Stuart was now 2nd but on lap 5 Gail found a way past and she tried to take the battle to Steve. Davis drove another outstanding race and crossed the chequered flag as winner and Class G. A brilliant double for the start of the season. Gail once again took 2nd and Lydall was 3rd. Derek again came through the field and finished 6th.

The racing was so close and it continued into the next day but Coppock was the casualty as on lap 1 his engine blew. Locke finished 4th and a Class D win, Ryan 5th and Hastings 7th. The rookies had a good 'crack of the whip' in their first season with Paul Merrett of Brighton finished 13th in race 1 and 12th in race 2. Graeme Reynolds of Kings Lynn, finishing 16th in race 1 and 13th in race 2, and Roger Webster finishing 18th in race 1 and 14th in race 2. As the great Bruce Forsyth would say "Didn't they do well?." We will get to mention the other new boys as the season progresses'
