JEC XJS Championship - Croft 11th September 2005:

Another thrilling weekend of unbelievable racing was witnessed by a strong turnout of spectators with the Saloons and the XJSs fighting it out in the last races of the season at the very long 2.2 mile Croft circuit.

Race 2
Steve Davis pulled out of this race due to blowing a head gasket and that left Derek and Gary to fight it out, and fight they did. Davis got the jump on Pearce and after a couple of laps he started to pull away and open an ever increasing lead so that 9 laps later he finished 16 seconds ahead of Derek and took the Class G win.

Class E winner Sam Clarke bettered his Saturday 4th with a fine 3rd.

Driver of the Day, Lawrence Coppock took on Wayne Ulph. Lawrence chased Wayne for 5 laps and then found a gap to pass, but only 0.2 seconds separated them at the finish line.

Gail Hill had done some work trying to rectify the fuel problem on Saturday night, however this all turned out to be in vain as the problem returned a lap into the race and she finished a disappointing 14th. Meanwhile, her 'arch enemy' Gary Hastings finished 4th and took Class D win.

Simon Isherwood of Kings Langley and Simon Currell of Coventry both had good race, and Paul Reynolds was the Class F winner.
