Championship - Brands Hatch 14th August 2005:
Race 2
It was to be a repeat performance from James Dodd! When the red lights went out James did lead into the first bend but Steve Davis in his XJS stayed hot on his heels. Graham Paddick in his Jaguar Kougar was now 3rd and Ken Paton in his D-Type 4th.
It stayed this way until Stewart Lyddal in his XJS had a spin on Cooper Straight, first going onto the grass then back onto the track, with the XJS being so big it was now across the circuit and poor Justin Fleming in his D-Type, ploughed straight into Stewart head on. Both cars shattered into a thousand pieces but the drivers jumped out unhurt. The race was stopped until the debris was cleared off the track.
There was 5 minutes left to race at the restart and John Bussell performed a brilliant over-taking manoeuvre on James and stayed ahead to a thrilling finish to beat Dodd by 0.5 second and take Class EG. James took 2nd and Class B win. Steve Davis took a well deserved 3rd and Class E win after repairing his radiator that had been punctured by a stone. Chris Palmer was the Class (D) winner. Roger Cope finished a much improved 7th and Ray Ingman finished 8th.
