JEC XJS
Championship - Croix-en-Ternois 19th July 2003:
David Howard's XJ12 was invited to join in and duly kept out of the way of the Championship contenders by staying in front for both races. He gave Derek Pearce a severe challenge until partial brake failure on the XJS meant a wild trip across the grass, over the hairpin being narrowly missed by the pack & into the kitty litter.
Tracey Barker made a storming start, making up 3 places before a spin undid the fine work. Kevin Doyle took to the grass and removed his exhaust and any participation for the remainder of the Meeting. Tony Dunk & Steve Davis battled for 3rd until a power steering problem delayed the Steve’s blue XJS.
An outstanding drive from Gail Hill (Top Cats) netted 2nd XJS & Jim Shea took a fine class win after a mighty battle with Gary Hastings & David Weaver followed by Loz & Dave Ball. A strong run by Simon Seath collected valuable Championship points.
